Welcome again to everybody. Make yourselves at home. In the time-honoured tradition of our group, here is the weekly discussion thread!

P.S. Update on those stability improvements/enhancements I mentioned in my previous weekly thread: they’re finished. The matrix server uptime is now better. Suspiciously better, some might say. Anyway, enjoy the reliability >:3

I have been feeling anxious for so long that I do not know of the flat line I feel right now is normal behavior or if I’m in some sort of depressive episode. Just grinding away at work, hanging out with friends and dating a nice woman. Maybe it is peace. But the occasional absence of feeling like I’m in danger feels strange after years. I did sign up for therapy to get through some stuff, though. Maybe it helps.

It reminds me of something which may or may not apply, but seems semi-related. I remember reading about attachment theory; the model/framework of understanding attachment, where some developed healthy, secure attachment and some developed maladaptive forms like anxious attachment, avoidant, etc. And there is this idea that someone who is used to the high highs and low lows of a maladaptive form of attachment can find it almost boring when they encounter secure attachment. Perhaps that’s something like what you’re going through. Worth bringing up with your therapist though.

Have a great week, everyone! Whenever times get hard, it helps to zoom out and see that whatever may be coming your way now is temporary. All obstacles exist within time, so rolling with them as they come and weathering the storm will help keep you optimistic even as times get tough.

    As always, communism will win.

I want to begin this comment by saying I am in no way perfect but holy shit the bar for dating men is low. Like, the stories I hear from women around me about people they meet either in rl or online are wild. It’s as if men are completely unable to function in a normal way.

Now I’m curious what you’re hearing in the specifics. Like bad hygiene? Strange views or attitudes? All of the above and more?

Always just attitude. If it isn’t manosphere bs it is just general antisocial behavior. Just not being able to have a conversation without hinting at sex within half an hour. Having no interest at all in the women they match. Wanting to meet at their place for the first date. I could go on and on really.

Like, I have autism and you’d expect me to struggle socially to some degree but the NT’s out there seem to be far worse for some reason.

Yikes, yeah, that sounds bad. Basically sounds like people who are interested in hookups and nothing more, but also aren’t being upfront about that in a mature, humanizing way if they’re going to go that route. I wonder how much of it is fueled by PUA (pickup artist) material out there; from what I understand, a lot of that stuff is very sexist at its core and frames women like they’re a game console with a Konami Code you need to put in to get sex (not that they are using that analogy specifically, but that it’s very objectifying).

There’s this one coworker I work with often and he watches reels during breaks. I have witnessed this man’s reels going from far right conspiracy lunacy to now the occasional communist influencer and I wonder if my algorithm is infiltrating his, and winning.

I have turned many liberals through persistant shitposting in groupchats.

To the same extent? No, nowhere near. The Russians are amateurs compared to the West when it comes to botting.

Saw a similar post on Facebook. Guy used a analytic tool from bluesky sorting for a single hashtag that only amounted to 1000 posts over a 4 day period. The number of Pro russian posts were 1/2 as common 3 and 4 days after the strike as they were 1 and 2 days after the strike and somehow that proves the pro Russian posts were Russian trolls? Like if they were Russian trolls wouldn’t the drop in posts happen the day of the attack?

Data center in Russia got hit by a Ukrainian drone. Some Polish journalist/official/whatever with a lot of twitter followers then posted a sourceless graph claiming the number of Right wing posts/posters went down across the board on every social media site.

This of course didn’t happen and bro never cited his sources and no one can find the OG source (because he made it all up) but liberals are gullible and it fits their cognitive bias so they’re all spreading this nonsense that it was a “Russian bot farm” that got hit despite overwhelming lack of evidence beyond “well it FEELS true!!!”

I would like to one day live in a country where its administrators proactively seek to improve the conditions of the masses and make decisions based on a long-term view toward that goal, rather than basing decisions on personal enrichment and electoral stunts. I would happily dedicate my life to laboring for a government like that. I want to see the smiling faces of children who get to grow up in a safe, loving, peaceful, and communal world. If I could make a clear difference toward that, it would make it all worth it in the end. To know that others can have a better life than I had. To be empowered through liberation-based education and organized community. To be in community with others, to share goals, and to inhabit immense joy, while never losing sight of what is needed to protect it.

there is not any word in the english language that can capture just how horrifying the control of the capitalist powers over the internet is. (well internet is small part of the indoctrination and control of historiography, but the internet… in the time i was gone i’ve been observing my irl friend’s internet feed and remembered as far as they think, this is all pure, clean and dandy. and i kept seeing the ciaslop everywhere) apart from that, witnessing anglosphere internet even secondhand reminded me why i find everyone there so fucking ANNOYING!! their trite “”“”“”“”“politics”“”“”“”“”" of flab and vapor invariably end up anti-communist, ESPECIALLY their ideas of ‘anti-capitalism’ that end in silly little discussions of authoritarianism, did you know stalin was as bad as hitler, maybe worse?!

realizing that, at least i know i should focus on being able to have a real understanding of theory, where i know it so well that i can say it in such nice undeniable chunks for everyone, and then i can really help them pull at the strings about current events. only then could i actually start challenging the basics of historical knowledge, those that if you question them they’ll start biting your leg. it’s odd, actually, because i just wrote that paragraph out and i suddenly felt a burgeoning feeling of happiness and contentment. it’s something i can do :)

This is the way, comrade! I am also planting the seeds of doubt. I got hit with the ‘are pro-russia’ and ‘concentration camps in xinjang’, and have been quietly flipping the script. “I don’t know that its pro-russia but more like anti-US’, and the alternative is what? Just keep voting for the status-quo? Thats pro-genocide”. (Voting for the workers party). “Concentration camps for that many people?? That would be fucking HUGE and you could see that from space.” (rikers comparison). It starts by helping people see that what they are led to believe is them being led by someone. We can do this together :)

youre just like me fr i feel like crying a little

it’s been disenfranchising realizing what i actually know about theory is so little and fretting i said the wrong things or made wrong connections but i know i’ve been eroding the propaganda through more solid things like “don’t you think it’s ridiculous that XYZ is true and yet this isn’t?” and in fact i took pride in being able to just throw basic arrows through shit like xinjiang or even DPRK (because myths about it are so inherently crazy but the indoctrination is so powerful)

so to know to erode that is more effective and when i build my understanding it’lll be a good one two punch idk i’m very tired but this makes me happy right now

When people are ready to engage in some deeper thoughts, then can start going into theory but until then just chipping away at the walls. If there are just one or two issues that people are really chewing over then lets chop it up together. What is going to help me, as today I just right my thoughts down, is that when I have a computer I can start filing away my and organising my notes. When the wall of text show downs happen then I too and copy and paste and furiously type away! This will definitely help me build a more complete understanding and allow me to stay cohesive in my analysis.

You’re fighting the good fight comrade, keep it up!

gonna turn the ideas of general “corporate greed” into “where does the west get its riches when it doesn’t produce value outside of being responsible for service sector or export of money” lenin-pointing
