It can be hard swaying anybody. I suspect a lot of it comes down to: 1) getting them involved in organizing, not just agreeing on some things and 2) being holistic by going for framework of views, not just some surface beliefs.
Cause like this part:
we could both agree that something was an issue, he would just misattribute blame or think the solution was something else at the last stretch.
Yeah, there are people I can get agreeing on some things, only to realize later I don’t think they agreed as much as I thought and are still pretty different in views on a fundamental level.
