Always good to see someone pick …Jilted Generation over Fat of the Land. I do like the latter, but MFTJG is perfection.

Great thread idea - you might also enjoy !albumartporn@lemmy.world, which has some pretty out-there covers.
I’ll nominate Abraxas by Santana which has a lot to take in!

I loved Ulysses 31, although I never really knew what was going on. It just looked amazing.
Uh-huh. Uh-huh-uh-huh.
Driver 8 by R.E.M. is a great one. Will try to think of more 👍

It never fails to fill me with absolute respect and awe for the people who build them, that the Voyager probes have gone so far and done so much for so long. It’s remarkable, and inspiring.
And the fact that they not only still work, but were made in such a way that individual instruments could be shut off in order to divert power to others and keep the thing alive for longer is just the icing on the cake. Just incredible.

I’ve not used it for this purpose, but the (excellent) Photo Editor has a batch edit function and removing metadata appears to be an option:

Not sure if they’re my favourite, but always liked this sequence in Bulls on Parade:
Weapons, not food, not homes, not shoes
Not need, just feed the war, cannibal animal, I
Walk the corner to the rubble
That used to be a library, line up to the mind cemetery now
What we don’t know keeps the contracts alive and movin’
They don’t gotta burn the books, they just remove 'em
While arms warehouses fill as quick as the cells
Rally 'round the family, pockets full of shells

He says he posted it, but that it was meant to be him as a red cross doctor. And he can’t see how anyone could think it was meant to be Jesus. Seriously.

You were barking up the wrong tree.

For some reason your link didn’t work for me - in case it helps anyone else, here’s the link again:

We had it, yes, but we lost it - I believe that many of the technical plans from Apollo have been lost over the years, so some of this is pretty much reinventing the wheel to get us back to where we were before.

Yeah, but the point is to test the technology which will eventually get people back onto the moon, set up permanent off-Earth habitation, etc. Which in turn will/could be part of future steps for further-reaching exploration. I still think it has value as a building block.
Ah, ok - thanks for sharing! Not heard of that before, will check it out 👍
Doesn’t sound exactly the same, but you may be thinking of Phase IV.
Yeah, love Experience too, except for I think it maybe lacks the best mixes IMO of Charly (Alley Cat) and Everybody in the Place (Fairground). Can’t remember 100% off the top of my head, but I think it’s those two.
