21·2 days agoYep, as I said, there are stainless alloys that do work, but only if a magnet sticks. If it doesn’t conduct magnetism, there’s nothing for the induction circuit to act on.

41·2 days agoAlso, if you’re looking for something light and strong, carbon steel is your answer. It’s still going to need seasoning, but it’s a lot lighter than cast iron.

15·2 days agoIt is, but stainless doesn’t work with induction. There are some stainless alloys that do, but they do rust and take more effort than true stainless. If a magnet won’t stick to it, it won’t work with induction.

43·2 days agoJust as a point for the OP: most stainless won’t work on induction. Test it with a magnet before you buy. If a magnet won’t stick to it, induction won’t work.

131·2 days agoCarbon steel or cast iron for induction. Both need to be seasoned, but that’s not a big deal.

This whole paragraph:
Oh, thank you for letting me know that someone has vibe-rewritten my project in Go, Rust, Swift, and Kotlin, all at once, and has also implemented every feature on my backlog and wishlist. Their README does have a lot of cool visual effects, I agree. Oh, I see they dual-licensed it in MIT and Apache 2.0. Good for them. I see they’re also merging about 21 PRs a day, because their README shows a real-time graph. All made by their their “AI teammates,” look at that. I wish I was their credit card, because then I might finally be in a happy relationship with someone who loves to use me this hard. Oh, look, the README just lit up because another PR got merged. The LLM that merged it gave the LLM that reviewed it a folded hands emoji. Good luck to anyone who wants to use this, because honestly they’ll need it. Oh, look, another PR just made it in. How wonderful. They’re burning the planet for this.
