Not necessarily, but in practice, almost always. There is no other motivation. They don’t want parents to be able to indoctrinate children into the parent’s own culture and instead want the children to be indoctrinated with their own culture. That’s not just racism, it’s a form of cultural genocide. We know a lot about that here in Canada.

Most people don’t have integrity, period. It is not a value people hold. Rather, they believe it is better to be manipulative because they see that as powerful.

*g*for grin. But I don’t use those anymore. And I never adopted emojis. So that narrows down when my brain calcified.

I admit it’s not an authoritative source, but it demonstrates that the usage you are claiming doesn’t exist does in fact exist, at least to some extent. While your definition may well be what it means in certain limited contexts, it’s very obviously not the sense OP was using.

They are different things. Saying “community” IS using the word for exactly what they are referring to. A city is a legal artifice. A community is a group of people with social connections to each other. Different things.
Glaciers have been in retreat for millennia. The Great Lakes exist because the massive glacier that recently used to be there was so heavy, it caused a huge depression in the Earth’s crust. All gone. It was never going to stop. We’re just making it happen faster.

Sounds like the exact same choice Macklemore had. Shut up and go along with it, or have personal integrity. And we have an example right there of someone taking the correct choice. Ed could have, too.
