An ad for a toy that gives you 100 McGems for watching it and a button to buy 1000 McGems for $5.99 (toys cost 1200 McGems)
Pixel density is more important than resolution. Higher resolution is only useful outside of design work if the screen size matches
IMO the ideal resolutions for computer monitors is 24" @ 1080p, 27" @ 2k, and 32"+ at 4k+. For TV it’s heavily dependant on viewer distance. I can’t tell the difference between 2k and 4k on my 55" TV from the couch.
I’ll check that out, thanks!

Excel is sooo much than it used to be in Office 97. And it’s way better than any other spreadsheet software I’ve tried.
Speaking of, anyone know of any alternative that handles named tables the same as Excel? Built-in filtering/sorting and formulas that can address the table itself instead of a cell range?? Please?
Crash was absolutely trash, this movie was at least watchable. It’s admittedly a really unfair comparison.
The reason I make it is because I feel the movie is getting a lot of praise because of what it’s “about” - and I use that word lightly because it’s not really…about anything. It’s just the pretense for the movie.
The movie opens with a revolutionary group raiding an ICE detention center to free people.
Like most inside jokes, it was better before the internet.
Now it’s the The Narwhal Bacons At Midnight of the industry.
I agree…what was the resistance fighting for? Why did we spend 45 minutes watching them fuck shit up with no explained goal?
All of the performances were great but Lockjaw was a stupid fuckin character. Hated the twist with him and hated the plot around it which…was apparently the ONLY plot because nothing else really happens.
Which feels weird to say because there was so much going on in the movie. But there’s only so much going on because everything in the movie exists for a single purpose and then it goes away. Every character has a single motivation.
I’m particularly mad because I walked in expecting to love it after several people whose movie opinions I almost always agree with told me they loved it. But I don’t love it, I’m neutral on it at best.

Didn’t read the article + bad taste in food = better leave a comment
I didn’t think One Battle After Another was very good. Felt like my generation’s Crash, though not nearly as bad
Wow now there’s a hot take I haven’t heard regularly for my entire life lol

That is kind of same thing. I don’t want the existence of AI solvers to influence how a puzzle is designed at all

My biggest fear with this is an arms race between puzzle developers and these solvers. I hope devs never design their games with the expectation that players will use AI
Yeah, they’re not birds. They don’t just go the instant they get the urge to lol
“I appreciate dogs BUT I’ve imagined the worst dog and an idealized cat for my examples”
If I don’t wake up at 6 to let my dog out, he just…waits. If I’m stuck at work an extra couple hours, I don’t fear finding crap on the floor because dogs can hold it
Hmmm I guess it’s still fascism even if you don’t pick the fascism civic
Civ6. It’s the only game I know where you can bring world peace through fascism.

It doesn’t sound like you’ll ever enjoy live music but let me help you understand the many appealing things to me as someone who does: Drugs. Just kidding, you can do those at home, too.
Anyway, first off “cleaner” doesn’t necessarily mean better because music is very subjective. There are songs I’ve thought I didn’t like until I saw them live…turns out I just didn’t like the album version. Live audio also depends heavily on who is running the board. I’ve been to shows that sounded so good I focused on the instruments to confirm they werent just playing an mp3.
It’s a rendition but there’s a million ways to play a song. And sometimes the enjoyment is just hearing an artist play the song differently.
Then there’s the energy. I don’t really dance and generally avoid crowds but there’s something about everyone being all hyped for the same thing that’s just…energetic. Then add to that the music physically synchronizing everyone, it’s great. It’s a real feeling of “oneness”, like the crowd is one big animal. And that energy feeds the artists making for an even better performance
And the “live” aspect can’t be discounted. You might hear a new song, you might hear a cover, you might hear a deep cut from their first EP! They might play a bizarre interlude that confuses you until it all comes together into a song you know! A lot of artists interact with the crowd in fun ways, too.
Damn now I want to go to a show but I don’t have tickets until May
Of the people who’ve expressed interest in a 2028 run, I’d take Buttigieg or Kelly over Newson any day. Of the speculated candidates, AOC over all 3. Pritzker over Newson, too.
There’s already a white rapper named Bones
