I can’t remember where I read this, but if carefully managed, humanity, in a highly controlled environment, could start off with as little as around 36 individuals. But population and reproduction would have to be highly controlled for dozens of generations before we could breed freely. this is all purely from a genetic standpoint.
And, of course, we would have to be in an environment where we wouldn’t worry about food or pathogens or predators, or anything else that might be a threat to our survival— including each other, or, possibly, ourselves.
The comment you were responding to is estimating a necessary population that takes into account a lot of other environmental factors.

These sorts of attacks rely on a person finding themselves in a pretty shady situation already. You would have had to responded to some shady Web link or some shady email, and already clicked on a few shady links to get to the point where you were screen sharing with some bad actor somewhere. This exploit would have to be run on someone who was already pretty far down the rabbit hole.
If you’re pretty careful, you would never get started in the first place.
In fact, sometimes you will see these reports, and it turns out that these exploits exist only in a lab where they tested it, and haven’t been discovered in the real world

In both my mobile app (Mlem) and on piefed, there is a crosspost function, so I don’t mind when people use that because it collapses all of the multiple posts into a single post. It gets annoying when I see the same post over and over and over in my feed

Yeah, that too.

As more and more people flee windows and seek alternatives, expect to see this sort of thing to increase.

Presumably

That’s actually kind of funny

No, because I deploy The Cough of Obfuscation!

If that means more orgies, so be it
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I’m not offended… I’m just trying to figure out that, because sexual orientation isn’t binary, what would the result of a collapsed wave function even be?

Well, at least we can agree on that
The only thing better than a position in an argument is a superposition 👍

I’ve also been drinking 🥃

I don’t know what kind of parties you go to, but I’ve never been to a party where they track the orientation of the guests
Edit: also, how do you have any kind of understanding of what was going on at my super gay Halloween orgy?

They were also at my conspicuously beefy Halloween orgy
And, yes, I mean that the super gay way, not the terrible costume idea way
Wow, that sucks. Best of luck to you in your recovery ❤️

See, they could’ve reworded it for the sake of clarity, but no… they’re just lazy. Not to mention that the responsibility for published articles like this don’t just fall on the writer; there are editors who review this as well. At least three sets of eyes looked over this, and they all decided that this was the best version.
Sometimes I wonder if crap like this gets published just to prove that it wasn’t generated by AI.

Minutes away to a conservative pundit complain that the resupply base name is Hispanic instead of an
UnionConfederate general and Trump forcing everyone to change the name
FTFY

As a sidenote: reading this really made me miss the Oxford comma
Zelenskyy is very good at saying the quiet part out loud: surrendering to Russia - nor even capitulating to unreasonable demands during any sort of peace negotiation - would by no means lead to any kind of peace for the Ukrainian people. Quite the opposite, in fact.
