The moon takes about half a degree of the sky’s arc. (So does the sun. That’s why total eclipses are possible.)
Since the horizons are 180 degrees apart, that means you could fit 360 moons in arc overhead from horizon to horizon.
Which looks impossible and demonstrates the optical illusion at play.

Technology@lemmy.world•Reddit is killing RSS feeds and ending public API access because of AI botsEnglish
15·21 hours agoEnding the public API also prevents reddit users from deleting their post history without manually removing each post.
If you want to scrub your post history and prevent reddit from profiting from your input, use Power Delete Suite while you still can.

It is unlikely that reddit allows users to delete their content from the backend but this at least keeps your posts out of search results, which is a large part of their value.

4·2 days agoPerhaps NASA is doing it to make a trophy that might impress the imbecile emperor in hopes of securing funding for space science.
Like in Rainbow Mars when the Time Travel Bureau has to go on safari to capture extinct pets for their imbecile emperor.

15·2 days agoLight web searching suggests that neither the automobile industry as a whole nor the health insurance industry as a whole exceed $3 trillion in annual global revenue. Which means the plagiarism-to-slop pipeline just needs to make a little bit more than the automobile and health insurance industries combined to justify itself.

Rap artists have to clear every last sample or they don’t own the copyright to their work- but when tech oligarchs pirate every ebook ever made and use it to build plagiarism engines, it is not just legal, they will get a bailout if their slop doesn’t turn a profit.

It could also be to make things difficult for redlib, which uses the reddit API.
