581·6 days agoI think the intent is to be a “work device”
A lot of companies will be lazy or have a BYOD policy. You will likely be asked to install extra security and monitoring software on your personal device to view work related info or check email.
The simple way to avoid this is to just get a second phone, and given how this device is has a smaller profile than a mid-range smart phone, its a good marketing bit.

13·6 days agoDegoogling your self is a process and needs to be handled carefully. Realisticly, this quite difficult if your not a fruit phone user, but there is hope for people who arn’t neck deep in Apples walled garden. GraphenOS announced last year they would be expanding their range of supported devices. [Link]
Once that happens, closing the ol’ google account will be much easier or atleast use a modern smart phone without having it tied to the tornent nexus.

01·7 months agoThe channel Economics Explained actually covered Denmark on this weeks video essay. The impression that I got is that they really have their shit together, even these planned retirement age changes are expected to be gradual so people can plan for it.
Companies that can not be trusted to not add features their customers do not want can not be trusted to keep them disabled by default.
If the door to AI exists, we, the users, do not trust the organization to keep it locked.
