Discounting some minor comparability issues, the process just requires a computer, an internet connection, a cable, and the ability to read through a couple paragraphs of instruction.

I think your coming on a little heavy, if you are trying to say that inventors should build systems that are resilient to misuse, I whole heartadly agree. But how your post seems it would imply that no one should be inventing anything that could possibly be corrupted or face the consequences, which is quite a huge pendulum swing that wouldn’t cause the outcome I think you are looking for.

From the title I thought he was playing up a flashbang as the latest and greatest in technology.

I personally don’t understand why that command doesn’t run every time the system starts up by default, I wrote a script that ran it on startup years ago and I can’t tell you how many times it tells me that there were files that needed repairing.

My mistake, I don’t know where I remember 7-8 years from, maybe an older technology. In any case I am now not sure my supposition about LNG is correct either, I tried to verify, but the US stats got nuked and I couldn’t find anything for other places.
As an aside does anyone know how wind stacks up against fission? It just always has appeared to be the best option for clean energy, or at least until we have fusion.

iirc the processes involved in disposing of the turbines are incredibly bad for the environment and very energy intensive. I would imagine that coal is still dirtier, but I am not as confident when comparing against gas power due to the short lifespan of the blades.

There is some recentish law making it a crime to change programming on your own purchased electronics though, federal felonies.
Do you have a source, this is the first I’ve heard of it.
I don’t know about the launcher, but I do know the that all storage is wiped in the process of switching over.
