Calling Wikipedia American is disingenuous. Wikipedia is way too big to be reduced down to a single nation. Furthermore, as there are so many backups running offline of it worldwide, and yes, you can be one of those backups as well, it is difficult to censor Wikipedia. Wikipedia resembles very neutral viewpoints. Therefore, in my opinion, we cannot criticise Wikipedia for all of the other reasons we may hate the Americans, because the Americans are entirely separate from Wikipedia, and Wikipedia is separate from the Americans. It is truly global.
