Europe is going to go for the “nuclear option” of dumping US debt. Prepare for your dollar to suffer inflation, perhaps super inflation. Me? I’m going to WalMart today to buy some staples because I don’t think my dollar will buy nearly as much by the end of next week.

Nothing drastic, just an extra pack of TP, some OTC drugs and probably some dog food. I’m pretty set up for apocalyptic bullshit already. But fellow residents: get ready.

I thought you meant actual staples… like for your stapler, and I was like, “Ok, you do you. Who am I to judge how someone prepars for the apocalypse?”

Too late to keep NATO intact. The pact is still there to share intelligence and sell weapons but I don’t think anyone sane still thinks that US will send soldiers to defend its allies. That being said EU will try to maintain the illusion as long as possible. They will definitely not directly fight US. If US sends troops there EU will respond with sanctions. Until that happens they will keep negotiating and try to minimize the damage without making Trump angry.

That might be the one thing that forces congress to act on Trump tbh. They could weather tariffs because it barely affected them. Dropping the bottom out of the dollar will affect them
