    Boohoo - £1000!

It wouldn’t surprise me if this was some weird viral marketing technique, because they’ve now made national news for such a crime that would have taken a lot of work to pull off with fuck all reward.

That’s assuming you can fence your stolen grapes at market rate

Is anyone else amazed that half a metric tonne of grapes is only worth about a grand? I know the bottles of wine they use 'em for sell for much more, but even just as fruit, that seems like a great bargain.

More serious politics should go in !uk_politics@feddit.uk.

Posts should be related to UK-centric news, and should be either a link to a reputable source, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think “reputable news source” needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread.

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.
