#Damascus: An Alawite Doctor Who Spent His Life Studying and Working, Only to Disappear After Being Kidnapped by General Security!!

    Expand

The case of Dr. Basel Ramadan al-Numaily, 29, continues to spark reaction on social media and outrage among Syrians, as it stems from sectarian incitement and the Salafist extremist mindset that the terrorist Jolani regime is working to spread throughout Syria.

Recent evidence has emerged showing that the young doctor faced several sectarian incidents because of his Alawite background. One doctor, whose infected by the sectarian ideas spread by Abu Mohammad al-Jolani’s regime, described him as “an animal from a criminal sect” in a WhatsApp group of hundreds of doctors, simply because of his Alawite identity, despite the fact that the young doctor had committed no wrong in his life other than being born Alawite, having spent his entire life studying and pursuing an education to become a cardiac surgeon in Damascus hospitals.

After the doctor made public what the extremist doctor had said about him and sent a message to the Minister of Health and the head of the Damascus Doctors’ Syndicate, neither they nor any other responsible authority took any action.

Days later, Dr. Basel al-Numaily was physically assaulted by the same doctor, “Baraa,” a third-year postgraduate resident, inside the Damascus University Children’s Hospital, in full view of everyone, with no one intervening, simply because he was Alawite. Despite Dr. Basel al-Numaily filing another complaint, especially after receiving threats via Telegram from allegedly HTS-led General Security personnel threatening to kill and “disappear” him within days, there was no response to his appeals.

The doctor was then kidnapped on October 4, 2026, from inside the National Hospital in Damascus by a detachment of the #HTS-led General Security militias. When his family asked members of the detachment, they denied knowing his whereabouts.

On October 8, his father received a call from a security officer telling him that the doctor was “being held” by them and would be released within three days, without allowing him to speak to Dr. al-Numaily to confirm this. Today, the three-day deadline has passed with no word on Dr. Basel al-Numaily’s fate.

I really hope that these stories demonstrate why I’m so adamant about my hatred for Wahabbism, and why I completely refuse to take people who complain about “Assadist tyranny” seriously.

Shi’ites knew this would happen. We made no exaggerations when you argued that Bashar’s fall would lead to this. Yet Western Leftists still refuse to acknowledge that their opposition to Assad was incorrect. Sunni Arabs have been conditioned to salivate over murdering Shi’ites and groups related to them.

Al-Jazeera alone has a massive amount of blood on their hands for fueling this sectarian strife.

Don’t forget about the Curds wanting to become Israel 2.0. Too bad for them they’re not Europeans and will always be cannon fodder in the service of the West while awaiting a promise that will never be kept by the colonizers.

I’m giving myself a quota on how many words I expend on dragging the Kurdistan Kurdish Israel project. So I’ll wait for a more egregious or direct development before cutting onto it.

Though personally, I’m a bit optimistic about the future of the Kurdish movement. I think a large scale realignment of these forces is currently in progress.

Color me curious. Rojava was a failure and just a middle ground between a color revolution and a jihad with anarchist flavor.

My assumption is based off the fact that Kurdish factions in Iraq were split on whether or not to attack Iran, with part of the reason that the US attempt to mobilize the kurds failed. With the US being thrown out of the region, the two regional powers that will fill the vacuum in Kurdish politics will be Türkiye and Iran.

The US has already left Iraq, and part of the reason Iran was able to respond so effectively to the Kurdish separatist operations was because another Kurdush political parry contacted Iran and cooperated with them. The remnants of imperial loyalists are still being being liquidated by Iranian drones. If Iran can incorporate the thoroughly betrayed Kurds into the Axis of Resistance, they would deal a major blow to Turkiish regional power.

The only way the Kurds can be used as a bludgeon for imperialists is if the imperialists are able to occupy the region. Their exit and subsequent humiliation makes the formerly ubiquitous compordor nature of the Kurds into a more complex situation.

I’ve spoken at length before about my opposition to Kurdistan outside the borders of Türkiye, an opposition I still hold, but that doesn’t mean I think the politics of the Kurds are static.
