I just got a new electric oven and range. It’s a slide-in. The oven makes a nasty chemical smell when I run it. The instructions say that’s normal and it should take around thirty minutes if running for it to stop.
I’ve run it for around eight or nine hours and it’s still making a stink.
Those of you who have gotten new electric ovens: how long until it stopped producing an odour?
Here’s a thought: clean the surfaces with some diluted white vinegar and heat the oven once more. The vinegar will not smell nice either, but it may clean up any residues that may cause the smell.
What brand did you buy if I may ask? I bought a new oven 2-ish years ago. The smell was there, but it was not particularly bad and the problem sorted itself quite quickly.
