Sometimes yeah. Especially when police is involved. I remember just after october 7th when a hospital was bombed in Gaza, local activists wanted to just burn some candles on a square to remember them. I went there only to find out city forbid the gathering last minute. There were still like 30 of us there so we decided to have our moment anyway. Mind you this was just lighting candles and having a silent gathering, in the pouring rain no less. But cops showed up with dogs and sticks ready and were really intimidating. It’s hard not to get a bit scared in a situation like that.

At later protests cops actually turned violent which was also scary.

But ultimately I think about why I do it and that being scared is okay. As long as I still go, I can be scared, but I do what I need to do.
