Norway will start building the first full-size ship tunnel in the world next year after the government allocated NOK 8.6bn (£671m) in its budget for the long-delayed project.

      No no, they build the tunnel above the ship. Think like a covered bridge, but permanently attached to the ship. That way cars will drive in one end, the ship sails off and the cars drive off at the destination.

    They’ve been talking about it forever. It might happen now.

    Though, never trust their timeline. Stavanger bussroad 2020 was supposed to be done I’m 2020. Can’t remember when they started (around 2015-2017 sometime I think), but it’s still not done, and have a couple of years left.

      I guess this is needed, but anyone thinking about downvoting, boring is another word for drilling a tunnel. Maybe the people knew this and just really didn’t like the pun though.
