I would have assumed most of them are dudes …
Wwwwhhyyy?
Because 90% of the time you see an anime girl profile picture it’s a dude.
That’s quite different to being a vtuber though, no? Doubt there’s that many people putting time into being a vtuber with a girl model when they identify as a guy
I really don’t know much about vtubers, but it’s still streaming. It’s all about getting those views and followers and pretending to be a girl might be helpful with that.
Even like 15 years back I remember a few people that pretended to be a girls in MMORPGs, including modulating their voice in voice chat, just to get all kinds of favourable treatment from horny teenagers.
That kind of behaviour must surely be a minority, right? Am I just underestimating how far men will go for attention?
I would think so, but I really don’t know. It should be pretty easy to pull off with all the modern technology.
Also I’m not sure if it’s just about attention. If you’re focusing on gaming (and I think quite few vtubers are) it might just make things easier. You might underestimate how far men will go to pamper a girl in a video game. It was actually a minor problem in my gaming days. We constantly had to weed out random female players that didn’t meet our clans skill requirements but were invited by some horny member that tried to impress her …
Whats a vtuber?
Streamers, except instead of showing their own face they use motion capture software to animate a cartoon character. The V stands for Virtual.
A YouTube or streamer that uses face scanning to animate an avatar that is on screen (instead of showing their face with a camera)
Face scanning rather than tanning I assume.
I’ve seen the phrase around, I always assumed it was just short for “video log on youtube” or something. I’m too naive for this world.
What the fuck is wrong with people, talk about making something inappropriately online!
