    Every once in a while I get the feeling India will be where the west’s war on China happens. India goes full on fash, invades Pakistan, and starts a genocide of Muslims and Buddhists, China feels they have no choice but to get involved.

    Kinda like a ukraine rerun, with a better motivated proxy with more people and industry and everyone has nukes. If that really is the game plan the Iran war is an attempt to get control of the western front.

    What is the goal here of Modi government? Anyone have an analysis on this relating to the conditions of India? Is this as straightforward as subservience to the western empire or is it more complicated than that?

      India is subservient to the USA. It’s because we have the largest trade surplus against them by a huge margin ($45 billion, the next largest is $17 billion) so the economy is reliant on the USA buying our low value added goods and cheap services. There is no scope or plan to catch up in technological capabilities so the only option is to bootlick.

      Hindutva fascists have also been sympathetic to israel since the beginning. This was in contrast to the Indian National Congress who at least nominally supported Palestine. I don’t know why this is (apart from the rabid Islamophobia). As a result of this the BJP government of today has warm relations with israel.

      Adding context to what others have said, Modi’s government also benefits from and relies heavily on under educated and hyper radicalised populace in some parts of the country like UP and Bihar (not limited to but at the top just by numbers). They are actively prevented from getting their needs met in order to keep them on edge and be able to make them into hate mobs against whatever these fascists point at. How this ties to Israel is that this also means they can ship these people off as workers to Israel as cheap labour in the name of foreign relations. The same thing India has done with UAE and such till now. By the time they go there and get treated like shit by Israelis, it’s already too late and no one really cares about the immigrant workers anyway.

      Apart from that, fascists align with fascists in order to do fascism better. Israel is to Palestine what India is to Kashmir and a few other "territories"and they have continual arms supplies back and forth and also learning how to do war crimes such as white phosphorous, starvation, apartheid, “tourism” colonisation etc.

      Modi is a Hindu nationalist its the same thing as wahhabism, zionism or nazism just with different religious aesthetics. They are leaning into it harder lately because the workers need someone to blame for their poverty. If the ruling class can push the blame to Muslims and Buddhists the workers won’t blame the capitalists.

      This is a couple of theories that someone in an Iranian Telegram channel shared with me:

      1. They are in perpetual Stokholm syndrom mind set - in love with their captors the white race. (Basically, mentally colonized)
      2. They see Izrahell’s success with taking land and killing, how India should deal with its Muslim population, Kashmir, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and even Sri Lanka
      3. The global diamond industry runs through India and Izrahell, and Modi is very integrated into that

      Hopefully, another comrade could share a more thorough analysis.

        This is actually a great strategy. Combine international disdain with rabid nationalism that’s drilled into Indians since birth, you can create the most loyal of subjects based on hatred alone.

    Racist zionist (redundant I know) Indians have been openly voicing their support for Israel since before the genocide, and were even more vocal about it after October 7th, and throughout it all the Israeli response towards them has been one of utter contempt and disgust. Despite Israel losing support worldwide, India isn’t a place they want support from even though if even 10% of the population supports them it would dwarf most countries (or even multiple countries) in the world.
