I worry that I’m too old to attend ELAM, as I am now over the age of 25. But I’ll keep an open mind!

I appreciate the rec but I’m too old to attend ELAM, you have to be between 18-25 apparently, and I am not American. Although CubaHeal seems like the place to contact for Canadians to attend med school in Cuba.

Im all for pivoting away from the US but it’s a shame that basically the only alternative partners Canadians think about are the EU and other global north countries. We were actually talking about other trade partners to replace the US in my polisci class last week (will make a post about it) and the only alts were EU and tentatively China.

I really do hate it when articles try to be novels, it really just takes me out of it.

I was quite let down by this video, I know that they said there would be no coverage of the internal politics for brevity, but avoiding that makes this video essentially useless. The internal politics are some of, if not the most important aspect of this war and not talking about it just makes the topic lose any sort of substance. Without the internal politics you are just parroting what everyone already pretty much knows and it makes it seem like this war came out of nowhere.

Have the Deprogram boys ever talked at length about the Ukraine-Russia proxy war? I know they’ve mentioned it here and there but nothing super deep, just little comments.

I think they missed a huge opportunity to talk about what this war is truly about and where it originated, this could have been a great video to educate others on the deep rooted context that informs this conflict but I guess we couldn’t get that… maybe next time.

Or at least one that was very similar. Just showing the Wikipedia information to essentially state how weak the Big Bad USSR was fighting against Little Baby Cutie Patootie Finland. I literally had to look up “Winter War meme” to find this and the amount of others with a similar sentiment is embarrassing as hell.

I don’t know much about what happened during the Winter War (Soviet Union v. Finland) but people seem to cite it as an example of Russia somehow failing. With Finland now in NATO they seem optimistic that this is going to be Winter War 2 Electric Boogaloo.
