Trump does not care for laws. If trump wants to do this, then he does it because he sees europe as an enemy. He wont care about legal terms. He cares about power. And unfortunately he has that power.

Now I would also like to know what are the americans buying instead? Are they buying lower quality? Or higher prices elswhere? Are they no longer not buying those products at all, hence no replacements?

I think the only thing that matters currently is power. Trump does what he wants. Why give him a billion to join a club in which trump will do whatever he likes anyway?

EU needs to become independent as much as possible. And then stand up for its interests.

I guess the post ww2 rules and hence the UN make less sense today. No real reason why the veto powers have these. It does not depict the real distribution of power in todays world anymore. Hopefully the transition to a new world order will be peaceful and its outcome constructive.
