Its the Canadian way to blame the prime Minister for things that are your premier’s responsibility/fault

Part of why Canada is in this situation is refusal to acknowledge it and “kick the can down the road” policies. And it isn’t all on the feds, provinces and municipalities share a lot of blame as well. It certainly isn’t too late to change but we’d need to make the right choices.
Opening cities to denser development, transit, and walkability would increase housing supply, reduce transportation costs, and could improve our social spaces. This all could help reduce the rising extremist political division, the type of division where you can’t be friends with someone who votes differently and exclussively on that basis.

Canada has it significantly worse than many other nations, and the bigger problem is that housing bubble is the backbone of its economy. Other nations have expensive houses but their economies aren’t as reliant on keeping those houses expensive as Canada’s is.

Okay but pretty much all the numbers are bad. If it was just housing or just price gouging on grocceries we would be fine but the reality is many factors of the economy are working against young & blue collar Canadians.

We also have grocery and telecom monopolies, stagnating wages and poor worker investment and production compared to similar nations. Canada is also experiencing a brain drain as skilled people leave for better cost of living & less taxation.

The first half of my comment was a joke

Go ask a someone under 30 if they can afford a house and get back to me. The RCMP has speculated the next generation may riot when they realize they are poorer than their parents.

He’s moreso pissed that Canada’s economy is failing and he isn’t responsible for it. (Yes the tarrifs hurt Canada’s economy too but their economy was already pretty fucked because for decades Canada’s economy was building and selling housing and not much else.)

It was just starting out around that time, hence why it wasn’t much of a concern in my earlier semesters. Plus they had better in class controls for cheating like monitoring computers and in person exams instead of online. You would have got an instant fail if you got caught using AI or plagarism on your projects.

Not a bot. Both my internship interviews commented on me making the deans list.

It didn’t sit right with me. I made the deans list each semester before that for good grades. I wanted no speculation that my grades were influenced by AI in the next semester. In a competitive job market, making the deans list consistently could absolutely stand out among other candidates. It shows respect for deadlines and the education.

I decided not to finish my college program partially because of AI like chatgpt. My last 2 semesters would have been during the pandemic with an 8 month work term before. Covid ended up canceling the work term and would give me the credit anyway. The rest of the classes would all be online and mostly multiple choice quizs. There wasn’t a lot of AI scanning tech for academic submissions yet either. I felt if i continued, I’d be getting a worse product for the same price (online vs in class/lab), wont get that valuble work experience, and id be at a disadvantage if i didnt use AI in my work.
Luckily my program had a 2 year of 3 year option. The first 2 years of the 3 year is the same so i just took the 2 year cert and got out.

You know your situation best but if you do need to arm yourself while protecting others in your house safety equipment like gun safes and trigger locks exist. Depending on the model of gun you may even be able to partially disassemble it and hide the missing piece.

The guy literally has said you’ll never have to vote again and has recently been teasing the idea of skipping the upcoming election. If american streets are still empty of angry citezens after that election is canceled, we are truly cooked.

Isn’t the whole point of the states that they basically operate like a bunch of smaller countries? You don’t have to protest enough to budge the feds, you just need to protest enough to remind your state that they can and should stand up against the feds.

Natural resources becoming more accessible due to climate change and military positioning. I unfortunately doubt this ends with Trump.

Americans spout all about needing their guns to stop a tyrannical government and then a tyrannical governmnet comes along and they don’t take their guns into the streets to stop it.
No way am I trusting an AI fact checker
