Heck, I’d be pulling more than that if I were a self-employed consultant rather than under a consulting firm, in our small city in northern Scandinavia.

Now I’m raking in a little below that, and I’m taking out like a third of it as actual salary and saving the rest, to avoid high taxes, and to to pay for a leased car, pension saving, extra insurance etc, before taxes. But after all that I’m probably saving $3k every month tax free, and maybe $1,5k in my bank account.

Engineering life is pretty okay. Still can’t afford a house yet though. Thanks boomers.

Funny, that’s not what the graph is showing, by my interpretation. To me or looks like the innermost stars are the oldest. Then the mid stars are the youngest, then outermost are older again but not the oldest.

Not many things hit me harder than seeing a parent mourn their recently-deceased child.

CEC has been around for years. This is probably more an issue with the PC in question rather than the TV. TVs do an excellent job at turning themselves on when CEC is enabled. 👍

I bought some ECCO hiking boots. Not for the wild wilderness, but definitely okay for the local woods and wintertime. Bought like 10 years ago. Still going strong. Water proof (actually plunged through the ice into some ankle deep water the other day and my socks were completely dry afterwards). You just have to take proper care of them. Clean the leather after the season, prepare it for storage. Then they come pretty dang close to BIFL, as well.
