This Tuesday, the platform and social network Youtube removed the profile of the Italian Agency for Cultural and Economic Exchange with Cuba (AICEC) , which disseminated materials from the documentary campaign “Let Cuba Breathe” , characterized by the publication of testimonies of those affected by the intensification of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States against the island.

The agency reported that the campaign’s testimonies will be disseminated online through the official profile on the Vimeo platform , as part of the global initiative to condemn the blockade, documenting the population’s resistance and their determination not to give up.

The campaign was launched on February 14th, seeking to highlight the consequences of the executive order signed by President Donald Trump , which threatens to impose tariffs on countries that supply fuel to the island. It also aims to counter the ongoing psychological warfare operations funded from abroad against the Cuban Revolution.

Cuban authorities have condemned the US measures as “criminal actions” that seek to socially collapse the Caribbean nation through "economic strangulation . "

In this regard, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel denounced the attempts by sectors seeking to deny the consequences of the blockade imposed more than six decades ago against Cuba, making its reality invisible.

The blockade, decades of aggression and economic warfare

The United States blockade of Cuba, in force since the 1960s and which has incorporated new restrictions over time, with a strong component of persecution and financial restrictions, consists of a complex legal framework of coercive measures and economic aggression that entail a genocidal, unilateral and extraterritorial system.

Their objective for more than six decades has been to cause economic strangulation and immobility and to affect socio-economic development, imposing severe restrictions and causing suffering on the population in order to force a regime change on the island.

At current prices, the accumulated damages caused by this policy to the Cuban economy amount to more than $170.677 billion. Taking into account the value of gold on the international market, to avoid fluctuations in the value of the dollar, the accumulated losses exceed $2.1 trillion, according to data from the Cuban government in its report to the UN General Assembly.

“ It is not possible to express in numbers the emotional damage, the anguish, the suffering, the deprivations that the blockade generates in the Cuban family . This has been the case for several generations, since more than 80% of Cubans on the Island were born after the beginning of the blockade , ” said Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla in September 2025 when presenting the island’s report on the blockade, intended for the United Nations General Assembly.

I’m really sorry to be asking so bluntly, but are there any guides for how to actually be a good agitator? I’ve been trying to figure this out for a long time, but you seem like a really smart person and I’ve already wasted too many years of my life building skills that seem to be useless in the end. So if I have go give up and do something else I’d really like to hear it now instead of like 5 years more wasted lol

Again I’m sorry, but I figured since I’m trying to figure out how to direct people to the cause it’s somewhat relevant and I just really wanna be of use somehow.

I don’t know if I would consider myself a “good agitator,” I stick with Lemmy.ml, Lemmygrad.ml, and Hexbear.net, but some rules I try to follow:

            1. Debate is largely useless, and most of the time people looking for one are unwilling to change their mind. Use that to your advantage, and treat their argument as a springboard for you to make a compelling argument to the audience, like Lenin with Kautsky.

            2. Don’t let the hatred and slander of reactionaries get to you. They are almost certainly wrong, and you can discard their “critique” as a meteorologist would the opinion of a Flat Earther.

            3. Try to speak only on what you know. Don’t argue for the sake of it, if you aren’t solid in your knowledge it will backfire. At best you’ll be misleading others, at worst a reactionary will catch your mistake and have a free soapbox.

            4. Try to have a dialectical approach to education and knowledge. You can learn more via practice, and by seeking a multi-sided view. Don’t view yourself as an infallable teacher, but as a fellow student in a study circle.

            5. Try to agitate among the most willing to hear new ideas. If it’s for Lemmy, agitate in communities opposing Reddit decisions. If it’s for communism, do so among disaffected liberals disappointed or outraged by their current conditions and seeking radical change.

I want to say that no amount of development is “wasted,” it teaches and changes us into who we are today. We do not exist outside of that context, even if things don’t work out the way we want or plan. Hope that helps!

That’s pretty cool. Also you probably don’t remember, but you recommended me where to find reading material on Deng, on redsails. I really appreciate that too. I’m not sure how much you get to hear how much impact you have on the world, but I used to know a person who was so scared of strangers she’d run away from them when being asked what’s the time, but just a while ago I saw her run to help a disabled person in need, without anyone asking.

What I found the most peculiar is that this person has repeatedly been called a monster and maybe it’s true. It’s not up to me to judge, but if someone like her can be made a good deed then I think there’s a future ahead in this world and a reason to stay hopeful. I wish I could offer you something more substantial, but I’d like to share this old drawing from an old children’s book I found in the basement.

Lenin dawn reading a book to children.

One should never underestimate the tenacity of human will. That woman even managed to invent me just to be able to keep going when confronted with impossible odds.

I think the most beautiful thing about life is that there’s nothing special about me. I’m just as ordinary as everybody else. There will always be someone who has spent their whole life dedicated on a subject and I have no hopes of ever reaching them, but what’s wrong with that? Their success shouldn’t hurt me. I’m also quite lonely and don’t have anyone to talk to, so I ended up going on a tangent. I hope you don’t mind. It’s really scary, but fear shouldn’t be able to stop me. Thanks for reading the ramble.

That’s really sweet of you to share, and to say! I really like that drawing, it really gets across how beloved Lenin was and how gentle he was. Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts, even if it was a “ramble” as you say they were still valuable to read. I don’t mind at all, and hope you have a wonderful day!

Also waiting on their answer, but I’ll give my 2 cents anyway.

I know there are guides for agitprop, but I’m not well versed in the fundamentals of Marxism. I’m dedicating myself to read general theory before I tackle agitprop specifically.
