Watch out for false flags in the coming days. The Greek protests in 2012 were the same and even worse for the government. They went on for so long, and the police could do nothing despite all the violent suppression they applied up to that point. The accounting firms, the banks, lawyer firms, etc in Athens had closed down fearing reprisals.

And then one day, just before a pre-announced large march was about to happen, one bank demanded its employees to open their branch, which was right on the path of the march. They protested and the bank threatened them with firing if they did not comply. So they went and opened up. Among the workers was also a pregnant woman.

The day of the march, a trio of men broke down the large glass windows with bricks and threw molotov cocktails in. They ran away immediately. Nobody knew who they were, but everyone who saw them agreed that they seemed to be laser focused on that particular building. Others say the men were waiting for the march to reach them just 100 metres away from the bank branch, walked with the march for a minute or so, then did the deed.

4 workers died, including the pregnant woman. That was it. The government could now frame every protestor as a vile murderer. News channels worked overtime to lecture people on how violence in protests is abhorrent. The police got carde blanche to go haywire on anyone protesting. The protest groups fell to infighting, as most people just stopped protesting as they were shocked at a pregnant woman being burned alive.

The perpetrators were caught and their names kept secret. There’s been no concluded trial all these years. All security camera footage is kept under lock, with the excuse that they are evidence in an ongoing trial. Whenever new protests occur the government quickly reminds people of the “bank incident”. It’s been used to regularly attack the left all these years.

I’m sure Mitsotakis would suggest this to his buddy Macron.
