Weird strategy. All this does is give oxygen to the the ZiR policy and by extension legitimise the Green position. I expected Labour to be smarter than that, but I’ll take it.

Have we got a better source on this than a tweet by Rupert Murdoch’s stooges?

You just referred back to the first two links which are now dead. Sky news insistence that something is true is a very good indicator that it is in fact not true. I can’t find any articles corroborating this.

‘…they’ve told their local government leaders where they are in collaboration with the Green party to reject and denounce this policy’

I don’t think it’s ‘all’ as in everyone.

More serious politics should go in !uk_politics@feddit.uk.

Posts should be related to UK-centric news, and should be either a link to a reputable source, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think “reputable news source” needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread.

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
