Brazil does fully electronic voting. Wouldn’t be surprised if the CIA “adjusts a few numbers”.
The machine is one of, if not, the safest in the world. It has several layers of security, write only and read only abstractions, and is open source.
Every year,
anyoneorganizations can go there, read the source code and attempt to hack it.Bolsonaro cried wolf about the “Urnas” several times to say Lula cheated, and could not provide a single proof.
It seems they claim the code is open source, but it has only been shared with a few research institutions: https://www.tse.jus.br/comunicacao/noticias/2023/Janeiro/codigo-fonte-das-urnas-eletronicas-e-de-acesso-publico-a-toda-a-sociedade
Is it publicly available somewhere under an open source license?
I was wrong, it’s not anyone, but only certain organizations.
2) Who can conduct inspections?Public institutions, federal agencies, political parties, universities, and civil society organizations may review and analyze the source code, subject to prior scheduling. Fourteen institutions are authorized to monitor the audit phases of the voting machines and electoral systems. They are:
political parties, federations and coalitions; Brazilian Bar Association; Public Prosecutor’s Office; National Congress; Office of the Comptroller General; Federal Police; Brazilian Computer Society; Federal Council of Engineering and Agronomy; National Council of Justice; National Council of the Public Prosecutor’s Office; Federal Court of Accounts; National Confederation of Industry, other members of the Industry System, and corporate entities belonging to the S System; Brazilian private, nonprofit entities with a proven track record in oversight and transparency of public administration, accredited by the TSE; and information technology departments of universities accredited by the TSE.
We are not dumb enough to make 'em networked. Our machines are much more secure than whatever passes as security in the so called 1st world
Read up on Stuxnet
Fair enough
But no warning for interfering in our own elections.
