It makes me irrationally angry when people who agree with each other on 99% of things argue over minute differences in phrasing. Everyone involved in this situation is good (Finkelstein, OP) and anyone trying to cancel one or the other should be shot
They are extremely large differences. Finkelstein’s answer presumes Israel has any authority.
Finkelstein has done good work but he really isn’t as radical as many think. He is far to the right of the average Palestinian. Finkelstein used to be Liberal Zionist for quite a while and slowly went more to the left over time.
This is not cancellation. This is a reminder that the overton window should be moved to the point that presuming the existence of Israel becomes taboo.
Finkelstein is definitely a “critical support” person. He’s a massive transphobe who believes isr*el should exist, he’s just not on board with the genocide.
