Japan election: Sanae Takaichi set for landslide victory

Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi said her priority would be to strengthen the US-Japan alliance. She had called the snap election in January to secure a stronger mandate in parliament.

With this election outcome, more nationalist hardline declarations and legislation are to be expected, along with increased economic and industrial instability due to additional Chinese sanctions in response to japan attempt to militarize.
