One thing I really took issue with him was his insistence that “spontaneous” actions were better than organized ones. Like, some of the French were so up themselves about the 1968 protests that they simply ignored or refused to learn from actual, successful revolutions. The outcome of the latter were AES states, while the former was at best a soc dem’s wet dream.

In 1977, Michel Foucault signed an open letter to the French parliament calling for the abolition of age of consent laws and the decriminalization of consensual sexual relations between adults and minors under the age of fifteen. Foucault further articulated these views in a 1978 radio dialogue titled “Sexual Morality and the Law,” where he contended that assuming a minor is incapable of giving meaningful consent was intolerable.
