“According to official figures, 192 people have been killed in protests that have been ongoing for 15 days in Iran. Human rights organizations emphasize that the number of people killed is very high. A note sent to Evrensel from the Iranian border summarizes the situation during the three days without internet.”

"Call from the Iranian Labor Confederation to all workers’ organizations

In an official letter sent to labor unions around the world on January 10, 2026, the Iranian Labor Confederation emphasized that the ongoing protests in Iran, involving workers, teachers, nurses, and retirees, have reached a “dangerous” level and that all labor organizations must speak out against the internal massacre.

The letter stated that the current protests, which began 15 days ago in Iran, are a continuation of a long social struggle against the prevailing political and economic relations, adding, “The Islamic Republic’s response during this period has also been accompanied by violence, direct attacks, and the physical suppression of protesters.”

In this regard, the Confederation noted that Iranian authorities have severely restricted internet access and communication across the country since the night of January 8, 2026, describing this as a tool to conceal the serious repression against protesters and calling on all workers’ organizations to be the voice of workers in Iran."

I think this might be an excuse for intervention because it’s seems like this is the biggest protest in IRI’s history. I hope it doesn’t end up as a color revolution…
