The far-right coalition government is seeking to narrowly define the words “woman” and “man” in order to demonise and discriminate against transgender people.
There is one area where that matters and it’s health care. Men and women’s treatments and care can differ substantially. It’s important to get it right. Gender affirming care/medicine is just a subset of that, for any individual.
