I wonder if the people at X ever read their own announcements.
Literally explaining how they sold out and enshittified the “blue checkmark”.
This also seem like yet another step towards mandatory IDverification on social media! (only to protect them kids & democratize the platforms of course 😉)

I don’t see anything in there about moving towards ID verification.
Also it’s twitter, not like I’d need another reason to avoid that shitshow, so who cares.
They seperate the accounts into “ID verified” and other, seems like further prep to me
X does not endorse the views expressed on accounts featuring checkmarks
Except they actively push some content far and wide and hide others even from their followers.

Wanting Twitter staff to tell you which accounts are notable sounds stupid to begin with.
The blue check mark is and always was a stupid fucking idea to make morons feel important CMV.
