Main legacy social media apps suck. So let’s switch everyone to better. I fully get the NoSocialMedia movement but we must remember that it is a thing because legacy social media is horrible.
Also it would be good to contact people internationally. So here are open source alternatives I hope you will try out then help others get on board:

Also potential solution for the Network Effect. Instead of having everyone switch fully from one to the other just have them have a foot on both sides till everyone switches over eventually
That’s basically what Linux is doing and with time/usage people will get off them since they enjoy the experience of the better alternative. Brining others onto them too since they exist on both sides
I’d suggest to remove bluesky. It’s basically, despite the “federation”, just one server controlled by bit corpo.
And don’t forget the classics that predate all of this shit: IRC (screw discord) or Usenet (although main use heavily shifted).
