Wow, she got rabies from just a scratch? I didn’t know that was possible.

I got bit by a cat once while on holiday in another country. I was traveling home two days later and when I got home I immediately got antibodies and several vaccinations against rabies. Now if I get bitten (or even scratched 😬) I just need to take a booster shot. It feels nice to at least have some protection for the future.

You have to remember that animals clean their paws with their mouths. Saliva has the rabies virus, making their claws a vector for transmission. It’s not the most common thing, but it absolutely has happened before.

Gotta get that rabies shot if your skin gets broken, it’s a top 10 horrifying disease.
