As an older millennial as well, I feel like my generation definitely acts younger than gen x and boomers when they were my age. Your friends’ parents are probably in those generations, and your dad is just young in relation to your age.

And the irony there is at some point in their career, they were in OPs position asking for help as well. So it’s either a cycle (people were also rude to them back then) or they’re the pull-the-ladder-up-after-yourself type of person.
