I recently discovered Johnny Guitar (1954), starring Sterling Hayden, Joan Crawford, and Mercedes McCambridge, and directed by Nicholas Ray. Cinephiles know it and love it, but the general public has never heard of it.

It features a vicious, deadly rivalry between two Wild West female entrepreneurs, who are in a land dispute. Besides featuring two strong female leads, it is beautifully shot. We often froze the video, just to admire the framing, or the way the ensemble was posed, like a baroque painting.

The court at The Hague was created precisely for guys like them.

But Trump turned it down saying the “last person we need help from is Zelensky." He’s just spicy because Z refuses to surrender his country to a dictator just to make Trump look good.

Have you lived in America for the last decade? Trump can ALWAYS find a way to make it worse. For instance, he could order a draft.

I’ve always worked in retail and sales, and have even owned retail shops, so I long ago got comfortable with chatting with strangers.

I once went to a big dinner party with a couple of friends, where none of us knew anyone else at the party.

We sat together, but I barely said a word to my friends. I spent most of my time speaking with people I didn’t already know. As we were walking home, one of my friends asked “How do you do that? Just talk to people like that?”

I hadn’t really thought of it before, but all I do is Be Honest. If I know about a subject, I will say it, and even debate it if I have to. But more importantly, if I DON’T know about a subject, I don’t pretend to know stuff, and try to fake it. That only makes you look like a doofus. There is no shame in admitting you don’t know much about something, but you are curious, and then ask questions, and then follow up questions, so they see that you are really trying to understand, and you are counting on them to teach you. People really appreciate that attitude, especially when it’s genuine.

Even more importantly, I try to avoid subjects I already know about, and can expound upon at length, and try to learn about something new. Someone has an interesting job that I’ve never experienced? Let’s learn about that.

It’s especially effective if I’ve done both - asked questions about things I don’t know about, while also speaking definitively about things I do know about. Then people realize that you are smart, but also a genuinely curious person, who isn’t just trying to look important by being a phony.

Don’t be like my dummy uncle, who always has to prove to everybody that he knows more about their job than they do, no matter how educated and experienced they are, and always invents some story where he saved the day, or told off someone in authority. {sigh}

Nat Geo was literally the best publication on the planet for over a century. Then Fox bought it, and now every other issue has a Biblical cover. Another case of MAGA destroying anything good in the world.

My brother was always super shy, so I grew up around it, and know how to a handle it. I’ve always recognized the shy person, and made sure to speak with them, ask their opinion, etc. They have plenty to say, it just makes them uncomfortable, so they generally appreciate it when someone else makes the approach, and doesn’t make any issue out of their shyness.

I would definitely not be happy if Newsome was the Dem nominee. He’s less of a Democrat than the Clintons. He was once married to Kimberly Guilfoyle, before she became Don Jrs concubine, so that should tell you all you need to know about all of them.

But if Newsome was the nominee, and my only other choice was a MAGA, then I’d vote for Newsome, only because even he would be miles better than ANY MAGA.

I’m not sure what you mean by this, but I don’t have an issue with my fellow workers, unless they are unapologetic MAGAs. I would never turn on my fellow workers. We need to stand in solidarity against the slave-owners.

JFC, HE CHEATED! Everybody knows it! He won EVERY swing states? That’s was pretty much a statistical impossibility. They made no secret of it, both Trump and Musk both said many times that they intended to steal it.

All they had to do was flip one vote in seven states. That’s how we ended up with MILLIONS of straight Democratic ballots, with Trump at the top. MILLIONS OF THEM! Who does that? Who votes that way? Have you ever met a person who voted straight Democratic, except for Trump? I’ve never met one, and I’ve never seen one on TV. That’s because they don’t exist, not in any significant numbers.

And the craziest thing is, they ONLY seem to exist in the swing states, because that vote pattern didn’t occur anywhere else.

But as soon as the polls closed, the MAGA comedy act of Schmuck & Jeffries immediately declared Trump’s victory “fair & square,” abdicating their sworn responsibilities, and condemning America to the political Hell we are being dragged through.

If it was “fair & square,” it was the first time in his entire life that Trump didn’t cheat, and it is highly doubtful that he would choose the one election that would keep him him out of a life sentence in prison to finally play it straight. Does that sound like the Trump we know?

Quit doubting America, quit doubting Harris’s campaign, and place the blame where it belongs - on Trump, and his evil cabal of corrupt, treasonous, pedophiles.

My reading comprehension is bad? He’s the one who literally took “evil foreigners made him do it” from what I said. Obviously Trump and MAGA are evil, but so is Putin, and Musk, and together they form the triumvirate of evil that is taking us into WW3.

Instead of renaming French Fries to Freedom Fries, they’ll just ban them, and people who make them in their air fryers at home will be designated terrorists, and be executed.

As a result, the potato futures will plunge, and the entire potato industry will be destroyed, farms will go out of business, animal feed will be short, leading to meat shortages.

And the MAGAs will be on TV saying "It was hilarious to see the Libz getting angry because there were no fries at McDonalds, which was our objective.

"The fact that another major commodity market was destroyed as a direct result couldn’t be predicted, and isn’t our fault, or our problem.

Right, pretend Russia’s fingers aren’t all over every bit of this. Trump can be even scummier than you think (and he is), but that doesn’t make Putin a good guy. They are both psychopathic maniacs, and they are both getting as much out of this atrocity as they possibly can, along with a LOT of other people.

That’s simply not true. Most Americans are extremely distressed with what is happening in Gaza, Lebanon, and Iran. There is a small group of MAGA Billionaire Pedophile Psychopaths who have stolen our country, and are using it to advance their own personal agenda. We are doing everything we can to thwart these maniacs, but our tools are limited, and our best tools, elections, are on a calendar. We can’t shift them, we can only wait, and VOTE.

After that, if they somehow sabotage our last, best strategy, the 2028 Presidential Election, then we’ll have to resort to more serious strategies.

That’s how I see it. A Draft is about the worst thing a nation can do to its citizens, especially during a war. It is the same as pointing a loaded weapon at someone. You are putting their life in mortal danger, and I have no problem with them using lethal force to defend themselves.

When the draft starts, the first thing that needs to happen is for every military induction center to be burned to the ground. And when they rebuild, burn it down again. Also any military recruitment shops. If they show up on college campuses, run them off, and force colleges to prohibit their presence on campus.

The Draft is as immoral as any government policy can be, must not be tolerated, and must be harshly resisted in every way possible.
