One of my previous tech jobs used this strategically. We would just send like a vague “hey could I get your help for a sec” which was code for “some trivial thing that has never failed before is failing now but if it thinks I’m wasting your time it’ll start working”. Half the time when the other person showed up we’d just talk about random stuff while the person tries the thing again and it would start working no need to ever know what the bug was in the first place

3·2 days agoMan I miss Seattle. I’m glad to be out of the country and I don’t miss the US in general but I’m homesick about Seattle. Only place I ever felt I was home not just happened to be living somewhere
That’s why anything I’m giving away I just put it outside and say first person to show up gets to keep it. It either gets sent off to someone who saw it or it gets ‘stolen’, either way not my problem anymore

World News@lemmy.world•Germany issues warning for transgender & nonbinary people traveling to the U.S.English
1·11 months agoHi I’m trans and living in the US right now, in Seattle one of the best places to be trans in the US. Don’t come here if you’re trans. Don’t travel to anywhere in the US, not Seattle, not anywhere. If for no other reason than to stop giving tourism money to us but if you’re trans then yeah it’s getting spicy.
All my trans friends who have had to travel are reporting increased pat downs, getting questioned by TSA, and bags being opened regardless of their documents. If you get clocked you may be delayed or searched.
For any trans people looking to get out of the country be careful. So far my best idea is to get to a state with enhanced IDs, use that to hop the border to Canada by land without having to physically hand your passport to a US agent, then fly out from there.
Stay safe everyone

That’s mostly because of programmers not autism, not all of us coders have autism. I mean I do, and I play Factorio, but these are all unrelated. I’m also trans and use Arch btw but those are irrelevant
