I feel the need to thank you all for providing a ML space to read theory and get my news from. I’ve realised that had Lemmygrad (and adjacent spaces like Prolewiki, Tankietube and Matapacos.dog) not existed, not only would I still be a liberal, but I would also have gone mad from not understanding a damn thing of what is happening right now in the world.
Granted, I still need to improve (Still haven’t joined a party, still hide the fact I’m a communist to friends) but I’ll work on that.
Also, about my parents being left leaning: I was very wrong. My father is literally a liberal politicianTM who believes in european supremacy, while my mother just tags along. The former has very confused knowledge about Gramsci, and believes the fascist EU is the pinnacle of democracy (“why else would Africans die to reach us” and other instances of colonial mentality); I don’t think I’m capable enouth to make him change. The latter is otherwise not into politics, and I might have made her interested in communism, but I’m afraid I’m not well equipped to satisfy said interest; I’m not a good divulgator and lack the knowledge needed.
did a ton of yard-work today for a lady; planted three beds, filled 5 more, did some work on a chicken-coop and each one of those beds needed a good 50/50 mix so it was a removed turning them after weeding all of them.
made good cash, I’m happy about it.
Capitalist flavors of thought are pretty bizarre. You get Nihilist Flavor, which is like “everything is impermanent and meaningless, enjoy it while you can, YOLO.” And you get Cotton Candy Health Flavor, which is like “you should try to live in a sustainable way; be healthy, exercise regularly, eat your vegetables, brush your teeth, sleep well… why? shoves ‘so you can work longer for the capitalist’ under the rug… uh, so you can savor the Nihilist Flavor for much longer”.
“But I want to be a part of something that matters.”
“Oh yes, so we’ve got Product Fandom, Colonized Religion, ‘Family’ Workplace, and a variety of cults.”

I was watching the Eurovision final in the bar and me and some other people were booing Israel whenever they came on. Some people had scorecards and I could see that some of them had scribbled out Israel. Right before the final result was revealed me and another girl who was booing Israel in the bar were holding hands in suspence and when finally Bulgaria won the bar went wild. Great to see.
I am a bit miffed they got second place but being denied first and still effectively hated by the audience will have to do.

I am super depressed. I also have PTSD, anxiety, autism, and OCD. I am super tired of nearly everything triggering me, and I hate my parents for not understanding how painful having numerous mental illnesses is (they probably caused some of them).
To make it worse, I still have no idea where I should apply for jobs (I hate the deceptive nature of having to lie on your resume just to get a job) and I have no idea where to even get housing.
I feel lost and angry and depressed all at once. Every problem is intertwined in other problems, so even if I solved one, others would appear after I cut off one.
Why do I have to suffer so much when the dogs that I would rather not call my parents live with such arrogance? I am tired.
Also please do not recommend me therapy because I have no job and only a limited amount of savings I have to keep for apartment rent in the future. I am also not comfortable with other people replying to my comment with their own venting.
Edit: I am doing better now. I will go sleep.
What’s the downfall of Trump going to look like? I feel like he’s going to get to comfortable age and die while MAGA far outlives him. He was useful in building the movement but I have to imagine the billionaire class is ready for him to kick the bucket here soon so he’s out of the way

The whitehouse ball room is just a cover for a super computer and biotech lab under the white house where trumps consciousness will get digitized and linked in to the whitehouse intranet so he can live forever as the machine god of usa. (this is a joke. but it might be what is going on with the ball room but obviously it is just a grift and wont work)

I need a place to vent again. But It’s bullshit that I need a referral to see a place where I live that offers HRT, but they want a referral that I can’t give because the doctor I use to see for this, left, and his place refused to give a referral and just told me to get a referral from a primary care doctor, which I don’t have.
and im trying not get overwhelmed at the same time with dealing with my dad’s affairs either since he died.
I am sorry to hear that. Every person that needs HRT should get it (it should be a fundamental right for those who want it).
HRT should just be sold off the counter or free without any gatekeeping. It just very frustrating especially since I like, I did have access to it before the doctor I saw left last year. And it was sudden to since I schedule an appointment late fall, and they just tell me that the doctor left and sent me a letter saying that they would give a referral! and when I finally get around to it this month, they don’t. like…
im genuinely getting angry and want to yell at this place. Actually I am going to raise a mess with this place

I do, I just emailed their patient representative contacts with a copy of the letter attached and even mentioned of willing to file a complaint. and if they ignore that I’ll just show up to the clinic or call that patient rep line. Like, this is all extremely ridiculous all to get a referral just to see another doctor. It’s not as if I’m asking for them to do surgery or something. All this reminds me of my mom who hated doctors, and legitimately. how can someone be a doctor and not end up being like Che Guevara and wanting and fighting for change? How do these doctors just for lack of better terms, not give a shit about the people they claim to care for.
and erg. I’m reminded when I had a very bad tooth infection a decade ago and got turned way from a dentist since I couldn’t pay a few grand up front. and the tooth infection was really bad.
Well, doctors are part of the labor aristocracy (I believe), so it is not surprising to me that there would be those more interested in making money than helping people.
I am sorry to hear about your bad tooth infection! I know from experience that the dental industry is horrible when it comes to costs.

Not really? Depends on the type of Chinese Singaporean, most of the ancestors of the Nyonyas left during the Qing dynasty, and integrated into to the local cultures of Malaya. Those whose ancestors came and settled down in Singapore during 1819-1937 were mostly fleeing the decline of the Qing dynasty and the Warlord Era, and their descendants mostly identify as Singaporean first. The New Immigrants that came into Singapore post WW2 and after independence would identify more as Chinese first, mostly due to the more nationalistic education they received from the mainland.
Though I would like make a side point that being Singaporean isn’t tied to race, there are also large minorities of Indian and Malay Singaporeans that have also influenced each others’ culture.
